As a young athlete, I’ve always admired the ability for competitors to alter their body to make them better at their respective sport. As I grew older, my intrigue was centered around Bodybuilding. I spend 3 years thinking about how I could do the same. In 2012 I sought the help of a Figure Coach to teach me the ropes. After a relatively unsuccessful year I found myself coached by someone new who saw my full potential and was hard pressed on making me the best competitor I could be.
The 2013 season was successful. My first show of the year, I placed 3rd in Figure F at the Arnold Amateur, by far the largest stage I’ve ever been on. Feeling the energy of the Convention Center truly cemented my desire to achieve great things in the sport! A few weeks later I competed in the Baltimore Gladiator Championship and not only placed first in my height class, I also won overall. My focus was then pinpointed on USAs in Las Vegas where I ended up placing 9th.
Before working with my coach a year ago he told me I’d do well in 2013 but 2014 will be my year. I’ve been proud of the progress I’ve made and how he works day in and day out to ensure I bring the best package to the stage. The support I’ve found even beyond my coach from promoters, suit designers, the JanTana team, supplement companies and IFBB pros just re-confirms the fact that this is me. This is what I want to do and this is where I want to succeed. I can’t wait to see what 2014 brings to the table!
